FAQ

Answers to the Frequently Asked Questions

1. What does it mean when I see “N/A” or an empty cell on the Dashboard?
You will see “N/A”:
- when there is no API access data defined for that data source (you can define it by clicking "edit" below the site URL on the dashboard), or
- when there appear problems with connection with this data source API (e.g. wrong access data typed), or
- when the collected data returns nothing

The empty cell appears when there is a problem with connection with data source API, which does not require access data input (e.g. Facebook, Wordpress), or the data collected returns nothing.

2. What payment options are available when purchasing a subscription?
We accept Paypal, VISA and MasterCard.

3. What would I need sub-accounts for?
You don’t need them unless you represent an agency. Agencies need additional accounts to grant their customers access to their websites data.

4. How often is the data gathered from all API sources?
The data is imported daily at 1:00 a.m.the user’s time zone.
If you edit the URL of a website which is already configured in the application, the fresh data will not be collected until 1:00 a.m. the next day. But if you add a new website, the fresh data will be gathered at once. It may take a few minutes to connect to all APIs and display the values.

5. I keep entering a correct VAT ID number but the form does not accept it.
VAT ID number has to be preceded by a two-letter country code, example: PL123123123. The form accepts only validated numbers. It means that your VAT ID has to be registered in official European VAT ID register.

6. Why is some data missing and needs a couple of days to appear?
Several data sources deliver their values with a few day delay. We process the data immediately upon its arrival.

7. How far back does the data history reach?
The history for each website starts from the day when the first data from API was collected. Webmastat does not import historical values ranged before that day.
Note that after you edit your website, you will be asked if you want the existing history to be purged or not.
Please also notice that, for example, if your website has been collecting data for the last two weeks and your time range is set to “last 30 days”, the values on the dashboard will represent only the last two weeks, not the last 30 days – because the history starts from the day you added the website. It does not apply to the values in the “Last Day” column in the answer to question 13.

8. The arrows in the history point up one time and point down the other time when the values decrease.
It depends on the specific data. Take most of the ranks for example. The lower the value, the better the result, which is why the arrow points up when the value decreases. But if you take visits – it is quite the opposite.
The reversed arrows are used in the following values:
- Google Analytics: Bounce Rate
- Alexa: Load Time, Traffic Rank
- Compete: Rank
- SEMrush: Rank, Google Competitors, AdWords Competitors
- website-monitoring.com: Number of Outages, Total Downtime.

9. My time range is set to 30 days but the values on the Dashboard reflect the data only from the last few days.
See the answer to question number 7 “How far back does the data history reach?”

10. I want to display values from Google Analytics on my Dashboard but apart from my Google Account email address and password, the system requires also “report ID”. What is it?
Your account at Google Analytics may contain multiple websites and reports. We need to know exactly which data to import. Log into your Google Analytics panel and open the report. You will find the "report ID" in the URL - simply copy and paste the URL, and the report ID will be automatically cropped.

11. I want to display values from Alexa on my Dashboard but apart from the “Secret Access Key” from Alexa, the system requires also “AWS Access Key ID”. What is it?
In order to connect to Alexa API you will need to create an account at Amazon Web Services. The “AWS Access Key ID” is the key provided by Amazon Web Services to their registered users.

12. What will happen when my subscription expires?
Webmastat features will be limited to the "free" plan (3 websites, no export, no alerts, no sub-accounts). If you have more than 3 websites configured, you will be asked to choose which one to delete, or you can upgrade to a higher plan, so that you will not lose your websites. If you have alerts defined, they will be blocked.

13. How do you calculate the values representing the chosen time range on the dashboard?
Depending on the data type, we either sum up, calculate the average or present the value from the last day of the chosen time range. Below is the table showing the way each data type is calculated:
